About
Parents often have very different questions compared to students, so this one-hour online event is specifically designed for parents how want to know more about how the medical school application process works. It is open to anyone: from those who are at the very beginning of the journey and are just curios about what steps the students need to take in the following years in order to apply to medicine, to those who already know the process and want to keep up-to-date with the latest opportunities.
This event will be delivered online by Dr. Bogdan, a London-based doctor and lecturer at Imperial College London. He will give parents a step-by-step guide and overview of the medical school application process in the UK, HK and USA and what it takes for a student to be in the top 10% applicants. Dr. Bogdan will also be covering the career pathway of a doctor, what happens once the students gets into medicine, what happened after graduation and what medical specialities are available. The whole process can be very challenging and definitely competitive, therefore starting early is key (Year 9, Year 10 or Year 11). We welcome parents whose students are in the following years: Year 9, Year 10, Year 11 or Year 12.
Parents will have the chance to ask any questions about the medical school application process and her the ;latest opportunities for students: from work experience events to 1:1 mentoring programmes.

who is delivering this course?
Dr. Bogdan Chiva Giurca
Dr Bogdan is not only a London based doctor, but also author of the international best-selling book ‘The Unofficial Guide to Getting into Medical School’. Professionally and outside medical school mentoring, Dr Bogdan is a world-renowned healthcare leader with research and work impacting on national and international healthcare policy. His work has been recognised through over 50 national and international prizes and awards, including three community impact awards and being invited to meet His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales on three occasions. He has worked with several high-profile clinicians, scientists, Harvard academics, National Healthcare System leaders, and has had an impact on healthcare policy making on a global scale.
Dr. Bogdan has sat on several interview panels and has tutored over 3,000 applicants who have successfully obtained a place at medical school in the UK. He is currently working as a Paediatrics Doctor in London (South Thames), a Clinical Entrepreneur Fellow, and a Collaborator at the Harvard Global Health Institute.
